Inverness exhibition attracts scores of fancy dress costume fans

A museum in Inverness is achieving record visitor numbers thanks to a new exhibition which is appealing to fans of Star Wars fancy dress costumes and other sci-fi themes.

Invasion opened at Inverness Museum and Art Gallery at the beginning of this month and features a range of props and outfits from films like Star Wars, Alien, Mars Attacks and Predator, including Darth Vader costumes and other exciting pieces.

According to BBC News, some 300 people a day have been flocking to check out the event, which will go on until May 29th 2010.<br

Wigs and fancy dress costumes make Scarlett ‘feel girly’

Scarlett Johansson has revealed that she loves any excuse to dress up in fancy dress costumes and things like Siren Wigs as part of her film roles.

The voluptuous actress told Look magazine that she’s really into clothes and fashion, as well as exploring totally different looks to her own.

Lady Gaga: I own more than 20 wigs

It may not come as much of a surprise given the array of fancy dress costumes we’ve already seen her in, but Lady Gaga loves her straight hair wigs.

The extroverted star told the Scottish Daily Record that she thinks being able to alter her hairdo on a day to day basis is fantastic, as she can reflect her mood via her new tresses.

Bungling robber tackles shop in fancy dress costume

Robbing a shop in a clown fancy dress costume may have sounded like a good idea in theory, but one criminal was left red-faced this week in the US after his attempt went wrong.

An employee at Allsup’s in Clovis, New Mexico, called the police on Sunday (May 2nd 2010) to report that a man in a clown mask had threatened him at gunpoint, CNJ Online attests.

Children’s fancy dress costumes help towards charity fundraising

Pupils at a school in Hounslow have been helping to raise money for a hospital by donning Peter Pan costumes for a record attempt.

The youngsters dressed up as Peter Pan recently as part of an attempt to smash a Guinness World Record for the highest number of people dressed as the character, the Hounslow Chronicle reports.

Schools all over the country took part simultaneously, meaning they can pool their numbers in order to break the current record.
