Anyone thinking of sporting Iron Man fancy dress like Scarlett Johansson this summer may find that they get strangely attached to it.

The A-lister told MTV that she wore her skin-tight black catsuit for weeks on end to film scenes as her character the Black Widow – and ended up looking forward to seeing it again once it had been peeled off.

"When I was finished, the last time I had to wear it, it was kind of like, ‘Goodbye, unitard. I will hopefully see you in 16 months [for Iron Man 3]’,"

A museum in Inverness is achieving record visitor numbers thanks to a new exhibition which is appealing to fans of Star Wars fancy dress costumes and other sci-fi themes.

Invasion opened at Inverness Museum and Art Gallery at the beginning of this month and features a range of props and outfits from films like Star Wars, Alien, Mars Attacks and Predator, including Darth Vader costumes and other exciting pieces.

Buckinghamshire residents are to attempt to break a world record for the longest ever conga line while in superhero fancy dress costumes.

The Iain Rennie Hospice at Home is hoping that more than 1,000 people will turn out for the annual Goodnight Walk, which last year raised more than £100,000 for the charity.

Helen Mariner from the hospice said that as the event is all about having a good time, it makes sense to ask walkers to wear fancy dress costumes.

But that’s exactly what customers at Bridgemere Garden World in Crewe can expect this weekend.

Employees will be carrying out a charity car wash on the premises on Saturday and Sunday, while wearing fancy dress costumes.

All of the money raised will go towards Greenfingers, a national charity which creates nice gardens at children’s hospices.
