He might have just turned 50, but Boy George has shown that you can never be too old to enjoy a good ol' costume party.

The Culture Club singer and DJ recently held an unforgettable bash in London to mark his milestone birthday, inviting guests who turned up in costumes ranging from Halloween-style ensembles to some rather sexy fancy dress outfits.

Held at the Lightbox Nightclub in Vauxhall, the party saw celebrities such as Martin Kemp, Sonique and Jodie Marsh rock up in their best costumes, according to the Sun.

Some of the outfits shown off at the gathering included bondage gear, ghost fancy dress and a rather bizarre creation that seemed to entirely consist of Disney-themed soft toys – and not much else.

George said in a tweet yesterday (June 15th): "It was a great birthday surrounded by ghouls, freaks & transvestites! Perfect – and for me a day at the office!"

He's not the only celebrity to display a fondness for fancy dress parties – Katie Price held her own costumed gathering last month to mark her 33rd birthday.

Some of the celebrity guests included Michelle Heaton in a sexy futuristic silver space girl outfit and former EastEnders actor Dean Gaffney in a hilarious mother-and-baby ensemble – although apparently the higher-profile attendees were secretly sneaked into the bash to avoid the glare of the paparazzi.

The birthday girl herself managed to keep her own costume secret – who knows what sort of outrageous fancy dress she might have chosen…?
