Schools encouraged to don fun fancy dress for Red Nose Day 2011

02 Mar 2011

School teachers and children have been encouraged to wear fun fancy dress later this month in order to raise as much money as possible for Red Nose Day.

According to Shropshire Live, kids across the country raised a record-breaking £7.8 million in 2009, but Comic Relief organisers want them to do even better this year to help some of the world’s poorest people live a better life.

The theme is ‘do something funny for money’, so all kinds of activities could be on the agenda on March 18th, including quiz days, talent shows and perhaps even a sponsored throw-a-wet-sponge-at-a-teacher event!

Red Nose Day head of fundraising Karl Reynolds said: “A large proportion of the money Comic Relief raises comes from schools and youth groups and we are eternally grateful for their dedication and hard work.”

For a fun idea that will be entertaining and should raise lots of cash, why not organise a circus style show at your school, complete with clown fancy dress?
