Hairspray fancy dress to pop up in Bristol

If you’re out in Bristol tonight (May 28th 2010), don’t be surprised if you see a few people wearing Hairspray fancy dress and looking like John Travolta.

It’s because the Hippodrome is hosting a Sing-a-long-a Hairspray evening, which invites fans of the movie and West End show to dress up, sing along and dance in the aisles.

There will be a fancy dress competition and more fun events before the film is screened and would-be performers can test how tuneful they are.

World Cup fancy dress ‘will get everyone behind the team’

Dressing up in football fancy dress costumes could help England to win the World Cup this year.

Paddy McGuinness told Sky Sports there is nothing like the tournament for getting the whole country feeling patriotic, with everyone willing to don silly hats and wigs as soon as kick-off approaches.

Sexy fancy dress worked well for Will Mellor

Manchester-born actor Will Mellor has said he found wearing a Frank N Furter fancy dress costume from the Rocky Horror Picture Show lucky.

He told the Manchester Evening News that he chose to dress up in drag for the character a few years ago, but realised that it offered more benefits than he first thought.

"I used my legs to try and get a cab, and it worked! That day I relished the moment of high heels and the outfit and I just worked it," Will commented.

Women don sexy fancy dress for nighttime hospice walk

A huge group of women donned pink feather boas and similar sexy fancy dress items over the weekend in order to raise money for a hospice.

More than 2,000 people took part in the Midnight Walk in Ipswich in Sunday (May 23rd 2010) to generate vital funds for St Elizabeth Hospice.

They set off at the city’s football stadium and walked eight miles for the charity, which took an average of two hours, according to the East Anglian Daily Times.

Wiltshire to swing in Sixties fancy dress

The village of Box in Wiltshire is getting ready to swing at the end of the month as they go back to the Summer of Love in Sixties fancy dress.

Its annual Box Revels Fun Day kicks off on May 31st at the Box Recreation Ground and the theme will reflect everything from this fab decade, from the Beatles to the World Cup.

Chairman Mike Curd told the Wiltshire Times he is getting very excited about the event.
