Fun fancy dress events ‘are just sheer good fun’


Fun fancy dress
events have been recommended by one news
provider as a great way of allowing people to relax and make
friends.

Mark Tronson, writing for Christian Today, said dressing up
takes people back to their childhood and lets them forget the
stresses of their working life.

He recommended choosing a theme such as movie characters,
vegetables and Back to the Future – particularly popular at the
moment, apparently – to generate a talking point and create even

Pirate fancy dress a possibility for Bedford River Festival

Participants in the Bedford River Festival 2010 could be making use of pirate fancy dress costumes this weekend as they compete in boat races.

More than 30,000 people are expected for the free event, which will take place on the Embankment and Russell Park on July 17th and 18th 2010, BBC News reports.

There will be a host of entertainment on offer, including a carnival parade, live bands and stalls, as well as dragon boat and raft racing.

John Terry wears pirate fancy dress to forget World Cup defeat

He may have been part of a disastrous World Cup campaign, but John Terry forgot his football woes this week by wearing pirate fancy dress.

The 29-year-old defender took his wife Toni and their four-year-old twins to the Magic Kingdom at Orlando’s Disney World and really got involved in the fun.

He sported a fake scar across one cheek and blacked-out eyes as he gamboled happily with his daughters Georgie and Summer.

Don pirates fancy dress and join the Big Toddle!

Cilla Black has urged parents of little ones to don pirates fancy dress and take part in a sponsored event to raise money for charity.

Barnardo’s is holding its 14th annual Big Toddle in 2010 and this year’s theme is pirates and all things swashbuckling.

One famous face backing the event is Cilla Black, who told the Liverpool Echo everyone should participate if they can.

Johnny Depp ‘really works his fancy dress’

Johnny Depp used his Mad Hatter fancy dress costume for the new Alice in Wonderland film to really get the feel of his character.

This is according to designer Colleen Atwood, who has worked with him on a number of films and who made the costume for the Tim Burton reimagining, which came out on DVD this month.

She told the Associated Press that she designs a piece and then gets him to wear it to see how he connects with the style.
