A Chinese man came up with a unique way to propose to his girlfriend recently – he dressed up as a carrot before he got down on one knee.

Pang Kun from Qingdao took Zhang Xinyu to a shopping centre for what she believed was a normal day out mooching around the shops.

Most people would consider it a bad thing to have a cheesy smell emanating from their feet, but not fashion student Lisa Dillon.

She has designed and built some high-heeled shoes made from cheese and bread in order to promote the annual 2011 Royal Bath and West Show, which is an event held to show off the region's produce.

To get into the spirit of Easter, a chippy in Doncaster is serving up deep-fried Creme Eggs to its customers.

Martyn Bilby, who models himself on Heston Blumenthal, decided to put some of the Cadbury's confections in batter to create some interest in the coming weeks and to raise some cash for charity.

A baker has expressed surprise about the complaints he has received regarding the name of his new shop.

John O'Toole, 42, opened up Big Baps in the village of Henley in Bedfordshire last week and although the response has been largely good, he said some people have objected to the saucy moniker.
